About this INP: After starting on level 9 (I normally start on 4), I had an early death, but pushed on instead of killing off the game, as I normally do. Turns out that that was a good decision, as I not only topped (on MAME) 400K for only the second time, but I also broke 1/2 million. Still, not a great game (my so-so joystick is partly to blame), but a very, very good one, reaching all the way onto level 42. Now, it's on to the clones, for two more #1's... Game stats: Estimated total times played: arcade: 450; MAME: 350; using savestates: 0. About the game in general: Here's yet another reason that Atari is my all-time favorite arcade company; this title is fantastic, and is (to me) the most advanced arcade title for any game, 1982 or earlier, period. Ahead of its time graphics, sound, and gameplay (replay !) make it pure genius (GCC rulz !!).

About this INP: Unlike my 522K on the foodf ROM, I started on level 4 here, which I think is a good spot to begin. As on foodf, this time I also broke 400K (for only the third time ever), but I didn't reach 1/2 million (I died just short of the cone, tho, and would have likely had made that amount if I didn't die). Again, not a great game (curse my so-so joystick !), but a very good one; I got to level 38 this time. Now, it's on to the last clone, for another #1... | About this INP: I started this game on level 9, and things went great for quite some time. I almost beat the (now) second-place score of 174K on my first man, dying one screen before topping the mark. This is my fourth time to break 400K, but I didn't quite reach 1/2 million, like on my foodf ROM INP. Well, my great game went south just before 200K, but I then limped along to level 39 before succumbing. Nonetheless, this submission completes the Food Fight hat trick. | Well, this score tops (read: destroys) my previous all-time best (8910), and even spanks the former MARP high (since disqualified) that was just shy of 10,000. It may even be tops for the ARCADE version, it's so good. I made it all the way into level 31, which is also a record for me (tying a previous game). A potpourri of point power-ups (read: mainly green jewels) helped, but a little luck, and a lot of experience, brought this one home. This is one that'll last - done deal.

| I topped my previous (and complacent) high of 6100, and it took only five games. I still should have had higher, perhaps around 10K. STATS: I made round 5 (the 'fox'), with 70% 'rate', and 'max' of 9. | ||||||

| After just a few plays, I managed to top my previous high, plus get into round 7 for the first time (it's possibly the final round, tho the number of digits available for your score makes me wonder). Unfortunately, I didn't have much of a chance against 'Draqula', who literally drove me batty... | ||||||

| On this INP: After 'warping', a near-perfect run thru the first three levels had me hoping for a great game, but things went sour after that. I really screwed up level 16 (with little reason, other than I haven't reached it much before, and therefore haven't practiced it much), and that left few lives to get thru 17. Still, this tops the former high nicely (both on MARP, and for me too), and I should easily pull off a 700K in the future. Game stats: Estimated total times played: arcade: 5; MAME: 100; using savestates: 10. On the game in general: While Atari is definitely my all-time favorite arcade company, this title was a bit of a dud. Still (and, kind of like a fungus), this one sort of grows on you. I don't love it, but I do like the fact that you can never be too careful, or assume you're in a safe position (both of which keep things from getting dull or routine). Still, only three differing levels is too little, and some movement and enemy AI bugs serve to frustrate players a little too much... | ||||||

About this INP: After searching for a version of WolfMAME that will play back INP's correctly (so I could submit a #1 score), I was trying out version 77 for the first time, and decided to just play it out after getting the Farmer's Market as my second screen, and also making a long run on my first life (a record 146,830 points !). I accidentally picked up a jelly jar on FM, and it wound up faster than I wanted. But, I played on, got to the bonus screen, and even two more screens after that. Game stats: Estimated total times played: arcade: 1; MAME: 180; using savestates: 5. About the game in general: Good graphics, superb sounds and music, and (generally) wonderful gameplay and levels make this one a winner. The only thing that sucks is the random distribution of the screens, after the initial one.

About this INP: Due to a recent TG submission, I got back into playing this great title. Despite the usual horrible trak-ball I/O that MAME is saddled with, I finally managed to top John Cunningham's long-standing, and excellent, score, but it probably took about 50 tries this time around. Lives bonus was an OK 140,000, but I gotta die far less, especially in that damn final room ! Well, I'll be working on this one more, in the future... Game stats: Estimated total times played: arcade: 40; MAME: 200; using savestates: 2. About the game in general: What a fantastic game - this is my 5th favorite coin-op of all-time. Good graphics and sound, combined with energetic music and superb gameplay / design, make this one addictive game. Yet another hidden arcade gem that 'nobody' knows about...

| About this INP: Here's my second game ever on this ROM, which is not really Super Glob. This is some sort of weird combination of The Glob with some Super Glob roms mixed in to change the title graphics. Anyway, I handily beat the (now) second-place score of 49K on my first man, and went on to carry all but one of my lives onto level 11, where the game ended. My 'rustiness' explains my poor showing on the final screen - I hadn't played the similar The Glob game (MAME or arcade) in over a year and a half. I'll trounce this score later, and then shore up my theglobp score a bit. Stay tuned... Game stats: Estimated total times played (this ROMset / theglobp ROMset): arcade: 0 / 120; MAME: 2 / 900; using savestates: 0 / 30. About the game in general: The Glob is in a solid third-place, as far as its rank among my all-time faves. How they could take the hardware that supports the boring, repetitive, uncolorful graphics game Pac-Man, and turn it into something this fantastic, well, let's just say I salute them (and, I rarely give out high praise !). Great (for its time) graphics, sounds, and gameplay (especially), this one is pretty much the perfect game, other than it (perhaps) ramping up the difficulty about twice as fast as it should. Still, I like short games, and any more than 15 minutes is too tough on this title, thus making it perfectly fit the bill... | ||||||

| On this INP: Not a great run, but a very good one, and even tho only 6 of the 15 screens had a perfect bonus score, I did get perfect (maximum) on all 3 possible (with this path) treasure bonuses. On the game in general: Unlike TP 2, this version is VERY hard to get a lot of quick solutions on many more than half of the screens played. Still, that makes it a challenge, and there possibly may be a better path than the one I tend to use... | ||||||

| A lesser score than my TEPLUS2J mark, but not by much. Note that (on line clears) you score less for a double, but more on a triple and a Tetris, on this version. The Jap version really screws up the points, based on the standard amount for Tetris lines cleared. Oh, be sure not to miss the moronic ending to the game - the "Professor" turns transsexual !! Only Japanese designers would think THAT up... | ||||||

| Assuming this is the best pathway to take through the game, this should be a tough score to beat. The (reasonable) maximum possible here is 1,898,500 points, and I was a measure away, but getting much higher would be extremely hard. On this INP, I had perfect treasure bonuses, and had a perfect time bonus on 11 of 16 screens, including two that are super-hard to finish in 10 seconds or less. I only went 21 seconds over on the other five screens, which is excellent, considered in total. Now, I guess it's on to TETRISP2... | ||||||

| On this INP: I am Globmaster (again), though it wasn't easy. Still, I made it into level 10, which is a new record for me. On the game in general: Just when I thot "Super Glob" was a new low in the ancestry of "The Glob" (theglobp version), there was apparently an earlier, and WORSE, variation - and this is it. As with "theglob3", this ROM is very frustrating to play, but at least you don't have to start a board over from scratch when you lose a life, as you do on that version. Just how Epos managed to turn these stinkers into the fabulous game "The Glob" (Pac-man version) in just a few months, we may never know... | ||||||

| Here's another 'early' (and awful) version of the fantastic game "The Glob" (theglobp version), and believe me, this is some hellish heritage. Nearly identical to the 'theglob2' ROM, playing this is an excercise in unbelievable frustration. This IS hell on earth (or, computer), but, at least I finally did get into level 8, and racked up a pretty great score (and, with NO leeching !). Still, I make one simple request - PLEASE don't make me play this any more !! | ||||||

| A great score on one of my top 5 all-time favorite games, bettering my previous high of 118,163 (on this ROM). I was forced to point-press a bit on level 11 by the hyper-speed 'porkers', and I prefer to level-press more, but this is still a nice play, overall. I'm not ready to retire yet, as I think I should be able to reach level 13 (my best ever was to 12). But, I'll put that on the back burner, for now... | ||||||
